01What each channel is actually good at
A website ordering flow is good at the transaction itself: browsing a priced menu, building a cart, checking out with a card, and getting a confirmation with a pickup or delivery time attached. A WhatsApp presence is good at the conversation around the transaction: a question about an allergen, a request to change an order after it was placed, a reservation for a group larger than the online form handles. Trying to run the whole order through WhatsApp works at low volume and breaks down fast once a kitchen is handling more than a handful of chats at once during service.

02What PROOF48 actually builds for a restaurant
The build for Rotiseria Baba Novac replaced a delivery aggregator with a full menu, cart and Stripe checkout, pickup slot selection, and an order confirmation email sent through Resend on every order, all owned by the restaurant rather than rented from a platform taking a commission. That is an online store, priced at 2,500 to 4,500 EUR, not a WhatsApp product. If the restaurant genuinely needs a WhatsApp assistant on top of that, for reservations or questions, PROOF48 builds it as a custom project, priced once the message volume and integrations are known.

Every order kept, none of it going through a chat window
Rotiseria Baba Novac came to PROOF48 specifically to get off a delivery aggregator that took a cut of every order and owned the customer relationship. The replacement was a proper ordering system, not a WhatsApp flow: menu, cart, Stripe checkout, pickup slots and an automatic confirmation email through Resend, live at rotiseria.ro. Every order placed there is a commission the restaurant keeps rather than a chat thread someone has to manually turn into a kitchen ticket.

Can a website ordering system send WhatsApp confirmations instead of email?
It can be built that way, but it is a specific integration, not a default. Email through Resend is what shipped for Rotiseria; a WhatsApp confirmation channel would be scoped and priced as its own piece of work.
Is a WhatsApp chatbot ever the right first move for a restaurant?
For a small place with low order volume and no ambition to grow past it, a simple WhatsApp presence might genuinely be enough, and building a full ordering system would be overkill.
Where PROOF48 fits
A website ordering system handles the transaction better than WhatsApp ever will; WhatsApp is better for the conversation around it. Rotiseria Baba Novac runs the former, at 2,500 to 4,500 EUR for a store like it; a WhatsApp assistant on top is custom, priced on request.
