Does a wedding photographer need an AI chatbot for inquiries?

Usually not as a first step. A wedding photographer wins inquiries with a form that asks for the date and place, packages with starting prices on the page, and a personal reply the same day. A chatbot helps only with repeated questions at night, and it must hand over to you. PROOF48's AUTOMATE plan includes one, at 2,997 EUR a month.

01What a couple needs from the first reply

Couples write to several photographers the same evening and book the one who sounds like a person who will be at the wedding. The first reply has to settle three things: are you free on the date, do you shoot this kind of wedding, and roughly what does it cost. A bot cannot decide for you whether you are free, and it should never invent a custom price. So the first fix is plain. Put the date and place at the top of the form, write your package names and starting prices as text, and say on the page when you reply. Our post on a wedding photographer's website covers the form and the portfolio, so we do not repeat it here. If those three things are in place and you still answer within the day, a chatbot adds little.

  • Date and place first on the inquiry form
  • Package names and starting prices written as text on the page
  • One line saying when they will hear back, and from whom
  • A personal first reply, the same day if you can manage it

02Where a chatbot does earn its place

Some questions come back in every inquiry: do you travel, how many hours does a package cover, is there a second photographer, how does booking work. If you wrote the answers down, a chat on the site can give them back at midnight, ask for the date, the place, a name and a way to reply, and pass everything to you as one short summary. You type less, and the couple who wrote at 11 pm gets an answer before they close the tab. A bot like this works only inside the text you gave it. A good setup should say it is a bot, repeat only starting prices you published, never confirm a date and hand over whenever a question goes past its text. We have no figure for how many extra bookings this brings a photographer, and we will not quote one.

  • Repeated questions answered from text you wrote
  • Date, place, name and contact collected and handed to you as a summary
  • It should say it is a bot and repeat only prices you published
  • It should never confirm a date and should hand over when a question is outside its text

03What AUTOMATE includes, and what it does not

PROOF48's AUTOMATE plan costs 2,997 EUR a month. It lists an AI website chatbot that qualifies and books, AI DM and email auto-responders, booking automation with a CRM, and two custom automations a month, on top of everything in GROWTH, ad management included. It does not cover WhatsApp or phone calls. If most of your inquiries reach you on WhatsApp, the plan misses them. A standalone WhatsApp assistant is a custom build, priced on request. Our post on booking software for photographers covers the calendar, contract and deposit side, which is a different job from answering questions. We publish no price for a chatbot on its own.

  • AUTOMATE, 2,997 EUR a month: website chatbot, DM and email auto-responders, booking automation with CRM, two custom automations
  • Includes everything in GROWTH, ad management too
  • WhatsApp and phone calls are not covered
  • No separate published price for a chatbot alone

04Where PROOF48 is the wrong choice for a photographer

If you get a handful of inquiries a week, you do not need a chatbot. A clear form, packages written as text and a reply within the day will do more, and a phone alarm that reminds you to answer costs nothing. AUTOMATE is the wrong buy for a chatbot alone, because you would pay 2,997 EUR a month for a bundle that also includes ad management. It is also wrong if your inquiries arrive on WhatsApp or by phone. What a photographer usually needs first is a site: up to about five pages, 500 to 2,500 EUR, built in 48 hours, paid after the preview. Larger or custom projects may need a deposit, as our terms say.

  • A few inquiries a week: a clear form and a same-day reply are enough
  • A chatbot alone: AUTOMATE is a 2,997 EUR monthly bundle, the wrong buy
  • Inquiries mostly on WhatsApp or by phone: outside AUTOMATE
  • A site first: up to about five pages, 500 to 2,500 EUR, paid after the preview

Not a photographer: a hotel whose site takes a booking inquiry

None of our eight written-up builds is a photographer, and none of them documents a chatbot. The nearest to this question is Santorini Hotel in Eforie Nord: a public website with rooms, a gallery and contact details, plus a booking inquiry flow. A hotel and a wedding photographer are both asked about a date by someone who has not decided yet. The entry records what shipped, not how many inquiries came in, so we have no inquiry figures to quote and no photographer results.

Questions, answered

Can a chatbot quote my wedding prices?

It can repeat starting prices that you published on the page. A custom quote for a specific day, venue and hours stays with you.

Does AUTOMATE work on WhatsApp?

No. AUTOMATE covers website chat, DM, email, booking and CRM. A standalone WhatsApp assistant is a custom build, priced on request.

Will couples mind talking to a bot?

We do not measure that and have no figure to quote. Say plainly on the chat that it is a bot, say when you will reply yourself, and give a way to reach you directly.

Do I need a chatbot if I get a few inquiries a week?

Probably not. A form that asks for the date and place first, packages written as text and a reply within the day will serve you better and cost less.

Where PROOF48 fits

A wedding photographer wins inquiries with a form that asks for the date and place first, packages with starting prices as text and a personal reply within the day. A chatbot earns its place only for repeated questions outside working hours, and it must say it is a bot and hand over to you. AUTOMATE costs 2,997 EUR a month and does not cover WhatsApp or phone, so for most photographers a 48-hour site comes first.
