01What TikTok's guidance says about the first seconds
TikTok's creative best practices for performance ads are specific. Prioritize the hook in the first 6 seconds to boost engagement and increase watch time, using suspense, surprise or another emotion. Introduce the content proposition, what the video is about and why it matters to the viewer, in the first 3 seconds, for better recall and awareness. That means the opening frame cannot be a logo, a slow pan or a sentence that only makes sense ten seconds in. It has to state or show the payoff straight away: the before and after, the surprising number, the problem the viewer already has. Everything that explains the hook comes after it.
- TikTok: prioritize the hook in the first 6 seconds, for engagement and watch time
- TikTok: introduce the content proposition in the first 3 seconds, for recall and awareness
- The opening frame shows the payoff, it does not build up to it
02Why most small-business video skips this and fails
Most small-business video is filmed the way a brochure is written: who the company is, then what it offers, then a call to action. That order is backwards for a feed where the thumb is already moving before the first sentence ends. Being found and being watched are also two separate problems. On the SCP Shine & Style rebuild, PROOF48 shipped 21 salon video clips, each declared in the sitemap so Search Console counts them, with VideoObject schema on the site. That work helps a clip get discovered. It does nothing for whether someone keeps watching once it plays, and that part is the job of the opening seconds.
- Brochure order (intro, offer, call to action) is backwards for a scrolling feed
- Sitemap declaration and schema help a clip get found
- The hook decides whether it gets watched once it plays
Twenty-one clips, found by search
For SCP Shine & Style, a beauty salon on Strada Baba Novac in Bucharest, PROOF48 shipped 21 salon video clips as part of the site rebuild, each declared in the sitemap so Search Console counts them, alongside VideoObject and Person schema. That is the discovery side of video. We do not publish watch time or view counts for the salon, because we do not measure them and will not estimate them.

Does TikTok's six-second hook advice apply to organic posts too?
TikTok wrote it for performance ads and does not say it covers organic posts. Organic videos sit in the same feed, though, so opening on the payoff is a sensible default for both. That is our reading, not a TikTok rule.
How many videos does PROOF48 produce a month?
BROADCAST includes 12 AI videos a month, delivered ready to post with captions written, at 597 EUR a month. GROWTH includes everything in BROADCAST and adds 10 new ad creatives a month.
Where PROOF48 fits
TikTok's guidance for performance ads puts the hook in the first 6 seconds and the content proposition in the first 3. Open on the payoff and explain afterwards. Sitemaps and schema help a clip get found; only the opening decides whether it gets watched.
