What TikTok marketing actually looks like for a local business, not an influencer

For a local business, TikTok marketing is a steady run of short videos that show your real work and answer what customers ask. On a business account the sound picker shows only TikTok's Commercial Music Library, and going viral is not the goal. PROOF48's BROADCAST plan delivers 12 AI-made videos a month for 597 EUR, but they are not filmed in your shop.

01The goal is local proof, not reach

An influencer needs a large audience. A local business needs the people within travelling distance to see that it exists, is open and is good at what it does. That changes what you post. Show the work in progress: a cut, a cake, a repair. Let the person who knows answer one question a customer really asked. Explain a price. Show a before and after, the entrance, the parking. End each video with one thing a viewer can do, such as the area you serve or how to book. Our post on why short video needs a hook covers the first seconds, so this one skips them. We hold no data on which of these formats works best for local businesses, and we publish no ranking of them.

  • Work in progress, a real customer question, a price explained, a before and after, the way in
  • One next step at the end: the area, the hours or how to book
  • Put your area and hours in the profile text and the caption
  • Ask permission before a customer appears on camera

02The account: business or personal, and the music problem

TikTok's help page on the Commercial Music Library (ads.tiktok.com/help/article/how-to-use-the-commercial-music-library, opened on 23 October 2026 and marked last updated July 2026) says a Business Account that taps Add Sound sees only sounds from the Commercial Music Library, while personal accounts see all sounds by default. It says commercial sounds can be used for organic or paid content. A second TikTok page, the Commercial Music Library help page (ads.tiktok.com/help/article/commercial-music-library), says businesses should use the library for all commercial TikTok activities, including organic content. In practice, the trending song under a competitor's video may not be available on your business account. Choose the sound early, or let voice and captions carry the video. Which account type fits your shop is a decision for you and for TikTok's terms, not for us.

  • Business Account: Add Sound shows only the Commercial Music Library, per TikTok
  • TikTok says businesses should use it for all commercial activity, organic content included
  • A trending song may be unavailable; build the video around voice and captions
  • Check TikTok's own pages before choosing the account type; they can change

03Who holds the phone, and what to measure

The real cost of TikTok for a local business is a person's time, not a subscription. Decide who films, when, and how many videos you can keep up for three months, because a feed that stops looks worse than one that never started. Our posts on how often to post and on a content calendar you will keep cover the trade-off and the routine. Then decide what counts. Views are not customers. Ask every new customer how they found you and write the answer down. PROOF48 publishes no TikTok views or sales for any client, because none of our case studies records one, and we will not borrow someone else's average.

  • One named person films and posts
  • A number of videos you can keep up for three months
  • A simple tally: how did this customer find you?
  • No views or sales figures from us, because none are recorded

04Where PROOF48 fits, and where it is the wrong choice

BROADCAST costs 597 EUR a month and delivers 12 AI videos, 4 AI blog posts, a monthly content calendar and a quarterly strategy call, with captions written and the videos ready to post. It includes everything in FOUND. Auto-posting to TikTok, alongside Instagram, Facebook and Shorts, sits two plans up, in AUTOMATE (above GROWTH at 1,497 EUR), at 2,997 EUR a month. You approve every video before it publishes. The videos are AI-made, not filmed at your premises. If your pull is real people in a real place, such as a salon, a kitchen or a workshop, the strongest TikTok content is the real thing, filmed by you or your staff, and BROADCAST will not replace that. It is also a poor fit if the offer or price is still undecided, if you work under strict advertising rules such as medical claims, or if your customers are not on TikTok. Ask your last ten.

  • BROADCAST: 597 EUR a month, 12 AI videos, 4 AI blog posts, a calendar, a quarterly call
  • Auto-posting to TikTok is in AUTOMATE, 2,997 EUR a month
  • AI-made videos are not footage of your premises
  • Poor fit: an undecided offer, strict advertising rules, customers who are not on TikTok
From a build we shipped

The nearest thing we have shipped: video on a salon's site

SCP Shine & Style, a beauty salon in Sector 3, Bucharest, shipped 21 salon video clips with its rebuild, each declared in the sitemap so Search Console counts them, with VideoObject and Person schema. That is video on a website and in search, not TikTok. The case study records no TikTok account, views or sales, and we publish none. It is the closest build we have written up.

Questions, answered

Do I need a TikTok business account?

TikTok's help page says personal accounts see all sounds by default, while Business Account users who tap Add Sound see only Commercial Music Library sounds. Which account fits is your call and TikTok's terms; choose it knowing the music limit.

Can PROOF48 promise views or customers from TikTok?

No. Nobody controls what a platform shows, and we publish no TikTok results for any client.

Will BROADCAST videos show my staff and my shop?

No. They are AI-made, with an AI avatar and a synthetic voice, not footage of your premises. You review and approve each one before it publishes.

Who posts to TikTok under BROADCAST?

BROADCAST videos arrive ready to post with captions written. Auto-posting to TikTok is listed under AUTOMATE.

Where PROOF48 fits

For a local business, TikTok is a steady run of short videos that prove the work is real, posted by someone who can keep it up, from an account that knows the music rules. Count customers, not views. PROOF48's BROADCAST plan costs 597 EUR a month and delivers 12 AI-made videos, which are not filmed at your premises. It is the wrong plan if your strength is real people in a real place.

Why your short-form video needs a hook in the first seconds

A short-form video needs its hook early because that is when a viewer decides whether to keep watching or scroll past. TikTok's creative best practices for performance ads say to prioritize the hook in the first 6 seconds, to boost engagement and watch time, and to introduce your content proposition in the first 3 seconds, for better recall and awareness.

Influencer content or UGC-style ads: what fits a small budget

For a small budget, UGC-style ads (content shot to look like a real customer's phone video, not a polished commercial) usually beat paying an influencer for a single post. An influencer fee buys one person's audience for one moment; UGC-style content, once produced, becomes a reusable ad asset you can run for weeks.

How often should a small business actually post on social media?

Most small businesses do better posting three to five times a week on their main platform than posting daily and running out of things to say by week three. Consistency beats frequency: a feed that goes silent for two weeks then posts five times in one day reads as abandoned, then desperate.

How to build a social media content calendar you will actually keep

A content calendar you keep has three things most templates skip: a fixed number of posts per week you can actually produce, a repeating set of formats so you are not inventing an idea from zero every time, and one person who owns publishing so it does not quietly stop after week three. PROOF48's BROADCAST plan runs this discipline for clients directly: 12 AI videos and 4 blog posts a month, delivered ready to post.
