One-page website or several pages: how do you actually decide?

Choose one page when you offer one thing to one kind of customer and the decision fits in one scroll. Choose several pages when people search for different things to find you, or when each service needs its own prices. PROOF48 builds either in 48 hours, up to about five pages, 500 to 2,500 EUR, paid after the preview.

01The test: one question, or several?

A one-page site works when every visitor arrives with the same question and your answer is one short story: what you do, who it is for, proof it is real, how to reach you. A clinic with five treatments, each with its own price and its own nervous customer, is not that case. A photographer with one service, an event with one offer, a consultant selling one package are. The practical test is to write down the last ten questions customers asked before they bought. If they are ten versions of one question, one page can answer it. If they split into groups, each group wants its own page.

  • One service or one package, sold to one kind of customer
  • One place, one phone number, one way to book
  • The decision is made in a single scroll, often by someone who has already heard of you
  • The price is one figure or none, so no table needs room
  • You do not expect to add sections often

02What Google's documentation says, and what we conclude

Google gives no page count to aim for. We read its SEO starter guide (last updated 10 December 2025) and found no recommended number of pages and no preference for one-page or multi-page sites. Two other Search Central pages matter here. The title links page says every page should have a title in its title element, with distinct text describing that page. The URL structure page says not to use URL fragments to change a page's content, because Google Search generally does not support them. Our reading, not a Google statement: a section link like #prices points to a spot inside one page, so a one-page site is one URL, with one title and one description to cover every search.

  • Google's SEO starter guide: no recommended number of pages
  • Google's title link guidance: each page needs a title in the title element, with distinct text that describes it
  • Google's URL structure guidance: do not use URL fragments to change a page's content, because Google Search generally does not support them
  • Our reasoning, not a Google statement: services people search for separately need separate URLs to be described separately
  • We promise no position on Google, for one page or for twenty

03When several pages earn their place

Several pages earn their place when different customers want different answers. A salon sells several treatments: someone who wants one does not need to scroll past the rest, and that page can carry its own title and description. Prices that need a table, a second language, a booking flow and a team page all pull in the same direction. Past about five pages the timeline changes, and our post on bigger sites covers that, so we do not repeat it here.

  • Several services, each with its own price, details or photos
  • People look for those services separately and you want each one described separately
  • A booking flow, a team, a price list or a gallery that deserves its own screen
  • A second language: every page is written twice, which adds writing work (see our post on two-language sites)
  • More than about five pages: its own scope and timeline (see our post on bigger sites)

04Start with one page, and where PROOF48 is the wrong choice

If you are on the line, start with one page and add pages when real questions arrive. It is easier to keep up to date. PROOF48 builds a one-page site or a site of up to about five pages in 48 hours, 500 to 2,500 EUR depending on pages and integrations, confirmed before we build and paid after you see the preview. We are the wrong choice in a few cases. A cart and checkout makes it a store, 2,500 to 4,500 EUR with its own timeline. More than about five pages from day one is scoped and quoted separately, and a larger or custom project may need a deposit as agreed in our terms. And if the words and photos do not exist yet, a page will not invent them.

  • One page or up to about five: 48 hours, 500 to 2,500 EUR, paid after the preview
  • Cart and checkout, so a store: 2,500 to 4,500 EUR, its own timeline
  • More than about five pages: scoped and quoted separately, a deposit possible as agreed
  • Words and photos missing: a page cannot invent them, and we invent no reviews or numbers
From a build we shipped

A salon that needed a page per service

SCP Shine & Style, a beauty salon in Sector 3, Bucharest, was rebuilt by PROOF48 with an editorial homepage and a page per service, each with its own copy and media, plus a booking flow that points to the salon's live booking platform. A salon sells several different treatments, which is the several-pages case from the list above. We do not publish the salon's revenue or booking counts, and we did not measure whether the structure changed them.

Questions, answered

Can a one-page website show up on Google?

It is one URL like any other, and the Google pages we read set no minimum number of pages. It has one title and one description for every search, so in our reasoning it matches fewer distinct searches than several pages would. We promise no position either way.

Can I start with one page and add pages later?

Yes. Pages added later are scope changes, and our terms say additional revisions or scope changes may be quoted separately.

Does a one-page site cost less?

The price depends on pages and integrations, inside the 500 to 2,500 EUR range, and we confirm the exact figure before we build. You pay only after the preview.

Can a one-page site have a contact form, a map and a booking link?

Yes. Contact forms, WhatsApp links, booking links and maps are part of what fits in 48 hours.

Where PROOF48 fits

Count the different questions your customers ask. One question and one story: one page. Several questions that people search for separately: several pages. The Google pages we read set no page count, so the choice is yours and we promise no position either way. PROOF48 builds a one-page site or up to about five pages in 48 hours, 500 to 2,500 EUR, paid after the preview. A store is a separate 2,500 to 4,500 EUR job.
