Hosting itself, the server space and bandwidth a site runs on, is a small part of what a maintenance fee covers. The bigger cost is the work around it: backups that actually restore when tested, uptime monitoring that alerts a person rather than sitting unread, SSL renewal handled automatically instead of expiring quietly, and security updates applied before a known vulnerability gets exploited. A site with none of that behind it is not free to run, it is unmanaged, and the bill shows up later as downtime or a hacked site instead of a monthly line.

A site running on its own infrastructure, not a rented shortcut
Noryse, a luxury corsetry label, is deployed on PROOF48's own infrastructure behind Cloudflare rather than a shared hosting panel handed off and forgotten. That is the same hosting discipline the maintenance plans exist to keep going after launch: SSL, uptime and backups managed on purpose, not assumed to keep working because nothing broke yet. We do not publish Noryse's uptime figures because we have not been asked to, but the setup is the same one every maintenance client runs on.

Do I have to use PROOF48's maintenance plan to keep my site online?
No. You own the code, the domain and the hosting account, so you can host it anywhere and maintain it yourself or with someone else. The plan exists for businesses that would rather not.
What happens if I skip maintenance and something breaks?
Whoever hosts the site fixes it, or nobody does. Without monitoring, a lapsed SSL certificate or a failed update can sit unnoticed for weeks, which is usually more expensive to fix than the monthly plan would have been.
