01One knowledge base, so the answers stop drifting
Most businesses end up with a website FAQ written by one person, an auto-reply set up by another and a price list that lives in someone's head, and the three quietly disagree. A client who checks twice notices, and the mismatch reads as sloppiness even when each answer was right when it was written. An assistant built on one knowledge base avoids this by design: the price, the policy and the free slots live in one place, and every answer comes from there. When the question is not covered, the assistant says so instead of guessing. That refusal is the start of the handoff, not a failure.
- One knowledge base: prices, policies, booking slots and FAQ in one place
- Every answer comes from that base, so two answers cannot disagree
- When the answer is missing, the assistant says so instead of guessing
- An assistant that invents an answer is worse than no assistant
02How the handoff and escalation are set up
The handoff protocol is written before launch, and you decide what triggers it: a topic such as a complaint or a refund, a time of day when nobody is on shift, or a client whose value warrants a person. Before going live, every case in the message map runs through the assistant, including edge cases, unhappy clients and half-finished requests, so it breaks in testing and not on a client. After launch you review conversations weekly, flagged as answered, escalated or unanswered, and each unanswered question becomes a new entry in the knowledge base or a new handoff rule.
- You choose the triggers: topic, time of day or client value
- Edge cases and unhappy clients are tested before launch
- Weekly review sorts conversations into answered, escalated and unanswered
- AUTOMATE covers website chat, DM and email auto-responders, booking and a CRM; WhatsApp and phone are custom builds, priced on request, that plug into the same record
The client should never have to start over
Korean Cosmetics runs its store and its app from one codebase in 12 languages, and the cart follows the same customer between the website and the app instead of resetting when they switch. That is a different feature from an AI handoff, but the same rule applies: when a conversation moves from the assistant to a person, the client should not have to repeat what they already said.

Does AUTOMATE include a phone or WhatsApp assistant?
No. AUTOMATE covers the website chatbot, DM and email auto-responders, booking automation and a CRM. A WhatsApp or phone assistant is a custom build, priced on request once we know the volume and integrations, and it plugs into the same CRM record.
What happens outside working hours when a handoff triggers?
That is one of the rules you set before launch. The assistant can tell the client when a person will reply and flag the conversation for the first person on shift, instead of making up an answer to fill the gap.
Where PROOF48 fits
An AI assistant earns trust by answering from one knowledge base and handing off cleanly when it cannot. Set the triggers before launch, test the hard cases, and review escalations weekly. AUTOMATE builds this at 2,997 EUR a month; WhatsApp and phone are custom builds on the same record.
